"BIM Team" from PS Laplace High School

We are 2nd Year students in a technical degree in construction. We study at PS LAPLACE High School in Caen and we are working on a BIM project.

➫ But, What is the "BIM"?

B.I.M. (Building Information Modeling) is a work method wich constist in sharing data with the people involved in a construction project. Thus, we are dealing with a model representation in 3D is said to be « smart » ; since it contains all the necessary information to prepare the project and carry out the construction work.

Everybody knows 2D drawing, everybody knows 3D drawing (volumes), then B.I.M. offers 4D drawing (dimensions and duration) and 5D drawing (Price assessment).

As he is aware of the importance of this revolution in digital representation of a project, our teacher, Stephane LESAIGLE has given us the opportunity to get involved. In collaboration with Bouygues Bâtiment, our aims are as follows :

• Completion of the 3D building site plan
• Weekly, scheduling the model → by anticipation the element tobe modified or added, will be completed on the following week.
• Formwork rotation, level by level thanks to the daily working schedule of the site manager.

➫ Organization:

« B.I.M. Team », a group of 4 volunteer students, is divided as follows:

• Ronan LECAVORZIN: 3D building site plan / Formwork rotation on PCMO software
• Morgan LENORMAND : Site supervision and creation of the website
• Clémentine BREUIL: Scheduling of the 3D model, communication on social networks
• Corentin DEHAIS: Scheduling of the 3D model, communication on social networks

Each week, one team will identify the progress on the site while the others will work on it in the class.
